The series for Soviet Shipowners are called "Geroi Panfilovtsy" type (Project 1585)
The series for foreign shipowners (Project 1585E) (Э in russian language) has a type name "Dnepr"

Hi Alexds,

you are not entirely correct. This vessel is a Kherson type 1585E generally known as the Dnepr type. This was the export version of the type 1585 of which Geroi Panfilovsky was the lead vessel (15 built for BLASCO. Of the 1585E version, 31 were built for export to various customers in a variety of countries.

To the chartering fraternity in the Western world, this *IS* a "Kherson" type

It is NOT a "Kherson" type. This is "Geroi Panfilovtsy" type. Ships were named in honor of General Panfilov and his 316-infantry division during WW2, specially during end of 1941.

Not a bulk carrier. She's a 'Kherson' type multi-purpose tweendecker.

Lovely photo, Would it be a bulker or a general cargo vessel having at least one tween deck?
