She was one of three sisters, the TEGELBURG was the first to broken up at Kaohsiung arriving 14/3/1968.
BOISSEVAIN was next to arrive 14/7/1968 followed by RUYS on the 13/9/1968.
All were built in 1938.

Hi Denis
In the early 50/60 you had not everywhere loading and unloading facilities,in the Far East.You drop anchor and you have to unload or load the vessel by yourself.

Hi Denis, they were devised for the trade with the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia). All Dutch ships in that trade before WW II had a lot of cargo handling gear to facilitate a quick turnaround.
