Cost when new, $640 million, and chartered to Repsol for a term.
Now on a 5 year time charter to Hess for $525,000 per day.

Pictured at Las Palmas on 29/03/2013, while undergoing an extensive refit in preparation for the next exploration phase of the Hess operated, Ghanaian, Tano Cape Three Points area off West Africa.
The Stena Drillmax is a dynamically positioned drillship, designed and certified for year-round worldwide operation in ultra deep waters....says the blurb.

So that's what's become of her... quite impressive. Originally this was meant to be my first yacht, but then... 229 m... kind of small... and so back in 2006 I decided to sell the hull.:-))

Bonjour Robert. This is a monster in every respect! Size, technology, operating ability, cost & charter rates too ;-) Maybe the $1 Billion+ 'Stena Drillmax Ice' will be offshore Canada in the future???
