If I remember correctly the likes of these play a role in Simon Beckett's thriller "The restless dead" (2017). I always wondered what these forts looked like... now I know.

There are more recent pictures elsewhere on the web, such as here:
https://thespaces.com/hotel-mooted-for-wwii-redsand-sea-forts-in-the-thames-estuary/

Or here: https://www.urbanghostsmedia.com/2014/12/10-abandoned-sea-forts-towers-anti-submarine-platforms/

Or simply Google "Thames Estuary Forts"

Are they still there today, after more than 10 years since the last posting ? If yes, they are still there, maybe someone who's near there, can post a photo or two here ? Thanks.

Yes indeed they are still there. In fact if I walk up to the top of the hill at the back of my house there is about a 5 degree angle between other land features where the Thames Estuary can be glimpsed through binoculars on a very clear day.... and you can see these! A long way off mind.

They are still there chaps but the gangways that joins them are not there.
A person was looking at restoring one of them and doing trips out there..haven't heard anymore on this project though.
