When she's carrying a load, is her stern completely exposed as seen above or is she compartmentalised to stop the ingress of water?

There are some very interesting vessels to be seen that's for sure and in my personal opinion, this is one of them. Is it a dedicated barge carrier? I thought, at first glance it was a floating dry dock !
