Description:

Inbound to Fremantle WA, 1/6/1981
Built 1978 by Kawasaki, Kobe, for Knut Knutsen. 16438grt. Sister (?brother?) ship was JOHN BAKKE. These were the first new general cargo ships for Knutsen for 16 years, and they were the last. Subsequently the company used chartered ships to maintain a service from Western Australia to south east Asian ports. Their Transpacific service was relinquished to EAC Lines, and JOHN and MARIE joined this service, sailing with EAC funnel colours and in company of the Danish owner's final "S" class ships.
