I'd say the unusual bow is a result of using largely flat and developable surfaces in the hull form. It's cheaper and easier to produce than "real" hull forms. If you look at this photograph of Canmar Ikaluk, you see something similar:

However, in this case I don't see the point. It's not X-bow or anything...

Why am I thinking 'cleavage'?

What's interesting is why they didn't cover the forecastle in such case of how it's on European built suppliers & why she has only one anchor?

I wonder what is her priority:
a) special looks/design
or
b) function

Just when I think after seeing many designs that an offshore vessel can't be any more distinctive! This just beat them all! :D
