Hi Capt Ted: yes, I remember Venezuela fondly..but much has changed politically..Yes, there are definitely much worse places on the planet unfortunately & we could discuss such things until...whenever! But as you say...let's not. Just sad to see resources wasted in this way.

Ok, what's interesting is that no one cares about the ship there. Could have had towed her somewhere at least.

@ Pata
after all Venezuela in general is not that ad. There are worst places on this globe. But with the resources they have and the way it is squandered,,it is bad.
But then,,someone told me once,,if the big oil corporations would leave enough money on the table in such countries that those peoples can live decently then peoples like Chavez never would come to power,,, but now we getting into the political,,and better not !!!

@ Phil
you are right, in these areas nothing unusual at all. Look same port the ANN B , half sunk in the middle of the port,,who cares !!!

Yes Yevgenii, indeed, in fact as I write, 70% of the country, including the capital,is reportedly without electricity. Not a happy scenario at all.....Venezuela is not on my holiday wish-list.

Denis, take a look at Capt. Ted's back catalogue of photos. You'll see loads of abandoned ships lying at anchor all over the place, many partially sunk. It's not that unusual.

Ted, I've never seen something like this before. It's Ok to be laid up at the pier for 6 years, but in the open water & on a busy lane?

A little further up is the B Atlantic, a bulker arrested 5-6 years ago for drug smuggling,,she will stay there until the sea valves give way !!!! Same with this one
