Your absolutly right, Clive, beauty is a personnal thing, and for me i like a ship to look like a ship, and not one of these new fangled "jelly mould" looking things, or some of those that look like the designer was probed by an alein, and the result is in front of you, looking like a ghastly sea monster.
But as before, some like some dont

Beauty, as we keep on saying here on this site, is in the eye of the beholder. For me Katara is just big and lacking in any grace what so ever. Those funnels are particularly awful, all curved and aerodynamic and yet then with those pipes sticking out. I do, however, much admire the interior design work of Alberto Pinto, so it was interesting to know that he was responsible for her interiors, though I expect that her interiors have not been widely covered by the yachting media so we'll never know what they are like.

Well i think she is a particularly beautiful yacht, and i'm pretty sure that a ship like this when ordered has quite a large input by the owner as to it's build.
Curtousy of "Superyachtfan" site--:
Superyacht Katara is one of the World’s largest yachts. She is built by Lurssen en was delivered to her owner, the Emir of Qatar, in 2010. She was designed by Espen Oeino with an interior design by Alberto Pinto. Not much is known about her interior, but from one of the photo’s hereunder it can be conclused that her main deck saloon has a hight of two decks. The yacht has a length of 124 meters (408 ft), making her the 14th largest yacht in the world, although measured by volume, she would rank much higer. She has gross tonnage of 7922t and can reach a max speed of 20 knots. The yacht is registered in Doha, Qatar. Luxury yacht Katara has an estimated cost price of USD 300 million.

I wonder how much it cost?
Yet for all those millions is that the best-looking design they could come up with?
Just as well they were not designing it for me. I'd have told them that I was taking my business elsewhere - and with that many millions of ££££s or $$$$s at stake they would not have been well pleased
