Description:

Blue Funnel Line's 1954 Newcastle built LYCAON was photographed sailing from Cardiff on 11th July 1973.

Later:
1976 GLAUCUS (to release the name LYCAON for a new ship)
1977 UNITED VANGUARD (Abbas Gokal's Gulf Shipping)
She developed engine trouble during a cyclone, took on a heavy list and was abandoned on 12.5.79, subsequently sinking, during a ballast voyage from Sharjah to Bassein.
