CARINA suffered major damage when she was in collision off Ostend, Belgium, 07.07.1995 with Container Carrier MSC SAMIA (IMO 7310143) when bound from Bellingham, Washington, USA, to Flushing, Netherlands, with a cargo of some 3300 tons of potato chips. She was kept afloat and part of her cargo was transhipped to another vessel. Thereafter she was towed to Zeebrugge, Belgium, arriving 18.07.1995, and the remainder of her cargo was unloaded. CARINA was sold to Turkish breakers and left Zeebrugge 14.02.1996. She arrived in tow at Aliaga 12.03.1996.
