The Royal New Zealand Navy's new MRV (Multi Role Vessel) HMNZS CANTERBURY pennant nbr. L421 being towed out of the Maatschappij De Maas facility at Heijschehaven in Rotterdam at nightfall on the way back to the Merwede Shipyard - Hardinxveld Giessendam on the 12.2.2006 after spending the day having the super structure and funnel blocks lifted on by the floating crane MATADOR 3. The hull was launched the previous day 11.2.2006. Yard nr.705

HMNZS CANTERBURY (L421) was formally commissioned into service with the Royal New Zealand Navy today 12.6.2007 in Melbourne Australia after handing over from the contractor TENIX. Link to news story;
