Another one of my dads former fleet! she was built as an X-Lighter for the dardanelle landings in WWI. She was then converted to what you see in this photo, i believe she went to Ham Lighterage for a while before my Grandad bought her in the 60's. she was eventually scrapped in 94 (i think...not too sure though). we also owned another one of the so called X-Lighters, she was called the BEAM, formally the Bickley Hall, intially she went from landing craft to a bunker barge, then when bought by Grandad she was converted to general cargo and, like all his craft, was used up and down the thames, medway and east coast carrying everything from bales of pulp, to amunition.

No she was ex priors, our old fleet consisted of ROAN, BEAM, FLAGON and CO-OPERATOR. there was also an old pla ship towing tug called beam, but she was scrapped in the 60's when we changed her name from BICKLEY HALL.
