I remember running with the Flagon in 69-70 from Northfleet to Aylsford paper mill with sulphite pulp. I was on the Roan and remember looking from behind and seeing the rockers on the engine going up and down. I asked the mate what kind of engine she had, and he said it was a Deutz from a First World War U-boat. I didn't kno much about marine engines at that time, so took it as gospel. Did she have this type of engine in 1970?
