John D. Deihl: Blt 1945, Reg: Reedville VA

I had a walk through the John D. Deihl, Wow, what a wreck. It has been previously sunk and raised and the whole interior is caked with cracked dried mud. Quite a sight!

Would be interesting to see the photos of the Deihl scrapping, Jacob. Do you know which plant or wharf scrapped her?

Was the JOHN DEIHL ever scrapped? i used to watch those old converted menhaden vessels racing around off Virginia Beach in the late 90's.

Yes, they cut her up in 2008, I have some photos of it. Unless the photos are of the Coastal Cruiser, but I think they were the John D Deihl... I lived on another ship just down river a few hundred yards from there. Made for some interesting kayaking... I will try to get those photos put up here. I meant to last year...
