It doesn't matter if it's above zero or even if there's some water one the ice as long as the ice itself is thick and strong enough. Of course, if it's not cold, broken ice in harbor does not re-freeze.

Just make sure you have enough gear to get yourself to safety in case you fall through the ice.

Thank you guys for your comments. Actually I`m also a little shocked looking at those fishermen on the ice especially now when it`s above zero - looking funny and silly at the same time, risking their lives for the sake of a bunch of lean tails. Regards. Maksim

If the guy on the ice is a ship spotter then this is taking our hobby to a new level! Looks very dangerous to me being where he is......
