1946 Built by William Gray & Co. Ltd. West Hartlepool as LIVORNO (U.K.) for Ellerman's Wilson Line Ltd. Hull. 1967 Sold to Margarencia Cia. Naviera S.A. Piraeus (John A. Livanos) and renamed ANTONIS (Greece). 21.02.1973: Arrived at La Spezia for breaking.

What a great picture of a classic freighter design. Ken you must have had a very good camera back when you took these, your pictures remain so clear and sharp to this day.

Hi Alastair,
Thanks for your comment, all I had in those days was a fixed lens Agfa Sillette and a Weston Master meter, how things have changed, but I am pleased that the slides are holding up, they are also Agfa.

Superb Ken, what a ship. Saw several of the later ones,no photos of course. But never saw anything like this. Brilliant stuff thanks for posting

In those days a 3000 tonner was considered quite large in that part of the river, occasionally an 8000 Harrison would pass and they were the largest ships of the time, bit different now though with the 20,000 tonners at the refinery
