Description:

Vessel M/V HYUNDAI FORTUNE Voy-333W, which is a container ship was flamed Astern with fire at the aft part of the vessel. According to sources, this unfortunate incident took place on 21/March, 2006 at 120 miles East of Aden and 60 miles off shore. A Dutch navy ship lead the fire fighting campaign. The cause of the fire as the press stated was due to electrical short circuit and flammable firecrackers that was stuffed in the containers near by. The Master and the Chief Engineer remained on board the vessel. After controlling the fire 19 crew members including the 3rd officer were rescued by Yemeni Coast Guard and taken to Aden Port in Yemen

Yesterday Salvage Tug left the Port of Aden towards the ruined ship to tow it to the port of Aden outer harbor anchorage. Please find the pictures attached regarding the Hyundai Fortune Voy-333W on fire in the Gulf of Aden

It is hard to comprehend the total devastation shown in there three photos.

Am I mistaken, or is that a container draped over the funnel.
Unbeleivable if it is.
