Although I cannot be absolutely certain, I seem to recall that her 3 sister ships Vikingur - AK100; Mai - GK 346 and Sigurdur - IS33 continue to fish out of Iceland.

Many thanks Bob, as for destination GPS Avenger confirmed River Blackwater so it is somewhere in the area, guess we shall have to wait for someone to find her.

Great catch Ken

GPS AVENGER is at anchor just off Brightlinsea, I wonder if that's where she has gone.

Regards

Bob

It would certainly be an interesting ship to have a look around if and hopefully it will be open to the public. Keep us informed Ken & Phil as I would certainly love to make a visit to her.

Cheers, Dan.

Hi Ken,

amazing shot of the Seebeck shipyard built former FREYR. She was delivered when I was 2 years old.
Always thought that she had already gone.
But this exites me a lot. Thanks Ken, my friend, for posting and doing me this favour!

Kind regards,
Holger

Lovely photo Ken. I believe that she is still owned by a group of volunteers who have been restoring her to her former glory since she arrived at Tilbury. They plan to maintain her as a piece of floating and radio history. The idea is to berth her somewhere accessible so that she can be opened to the general public.

Houseboat conversion ? Mmmm let me think, what about a get together from shipspotting members and lets convert it into a shipspotting view point with open areas for photography, very cheap drink, cabins for rent and perfectly situated on a swinging mooring somewhere where the ships pass by all day !

I could even provide my own boat for crew transfers from ship to shore.

Sorry, dreaming again I think !

Cheers, Dan.

Hi Dan

Her mast blended in with the background, as to her future no idea, they have been working on her and transmitting so maybe plans to start up again, the mast is a new addition, or they do houseboat conversions on the Blackwater, so who knows, she is dead ship.
Kind regards
Ken

Very good bonus ! But thought you might have seen the mast moving before the funnel !!!

What's the plans for her now Ken once at her new location ?

Cheers, Dan.

Hi Dan,
Thanks for the comment, it was a bonus, when she called up to come out of the lock PLA didn't know about her movement so there was a delay to sort the paper work out and was why she was not listed for departures, luckily saw her funnel moving down the dock and knew the tugs were with her.

Kind Regards
Ken

I think she might be heading to the river Blackwater, that's what the last transmission was from her mast by DJ Doug Shaw and DJ Phil English !

Good shot and good weather for it too.

Cheers, Dan.
