The area for pick are usually marked by a outer ring of 15m and a inner ring of 7.5m. Ususally on a hatch cover where are no cranes or derricks over/too close
,sometimes on a deck when it is very wide.
Bridge wings "as marked" as such I never saw but know it is sometimes done. The Helipad area as above described has to be approved by classification and certain protocolls have to be followed. If anything goes wrong and the place choosen is not an approved one the Master might as well go into jail before the authorities investigating

75/80% of pilot pickups are made by helicopter from Durban.Pick up varies,Some from bow some from middle, even the odd one from bridge if wind is right. The height is approx as seen in the photo.

Action!! Is the pilot liftet by helicopter from a spesific place, marked "winch only" in the ships bow, or from the ordinary deck in front. Is the lifting operation made with the helicopter in the hight shown on picture? Short distance to the front mast. The ship at some speed. The helicopter at exact the same speed?!!
