Early this morning around 10AM I noticed on Marine Traffic that bulk cargo ship, Ocean Life, was transiting Carquinez Strait on what appeared to be a routine transit in route to Stockton.
However later, during my routine bicycle ride to the Benicia-Martinez Bridge, I noticed that Ocean Life was apparently waiting in the center of the Sacramento River near the eastern end of the Carquinez Strait with the assistance of tugs, Delta Audrey, and another tug, out of sight on its starboard side, and not proceeding to pass under the bridges as it would normally do when going to Stockton.
The Benicia-Martinez Railroad Drawbridge was also not in its normal up position needed for a ship to pass safely beneath.
A later check with Marine Traffic AIS at 3:00PM shows Ocean Life in it's same position as the above photo shows it to be earlier this morning.
