This sinister-looking ship was a missile-tracker based out of Port Canaveral, and was used for tracking NASA space missions. She actually began as a troop transport back in 1944, the USS General Harry Taylor. She was deliberately sunk off Key West as an artificial reef in 2008

This is the ship that was painted only on one side,the side that was seen in the film, the other side remained US

The ship never officially bore this name, it was only applied for the filming of the movie Virus. The lettering was still on the hull until the day it was reefed, but the ship was still known by it's Navy name.
