@Jadran,, but also for cooling of the running aux engines if used which seems to be the case here,,see in this case the exhaust at the funnel which would be not there if she uses it only for air-con or reefer compressors.

Hi Trygve,
Shiprepair yards provide, by mean of connections, circulating sea water (SW) to the ship while the ship is in their drydock (floating drydock or graving drydock).
This circulating SW which is provided to the ship is regularly used for Air-conditioning and Refrigerating units onboard the ship and is also connected (as No.1 requirement) to the ship's Fire main during drydocking of the ship.

Could it be an air-cooled emergency/standby alternator or perhaps water cooled engine being cooled from fore or aft peak ballast tanks. Only guessing though.

As far as I can see from the air above the funnel, it seems that some engines or boilers(?) are running in the ship, even she is in a Floating dock. Have they connected sea water in some way to the cooling of engines? Experts, please tell what is happening!
