Description:

Took this shot of the KAMENSK as I was sailing into St.Petersberg in August 1992. She was built in May 1953 at Rostock by the VEB Schiffswerft yard for the Baltiskoye Morskoye Parochodstvo Co of Leningrad and is 4,370dwt. In 1985 she was converted to a school ship for the LUKoil-Arctic Tanker Co. Murmansk.

The unknown freighter is the KAMENSK after rebuilding to the stationary school ship. From the KOLOMNA class, built as yard No. 834 / object No. 211 with Rostock / GDR by the shipbuilder VEB Schiffswerft "Neptun", 9.Ship of the series. Launch. 18-5-1953, deliv. to Baltiskoye Morskoye Parochodstvo, Leningrad: 14-10-1955, 4370 dwt. In 1985 rebuild in to school ship, 1-7-2000 handing over LUKoil-Arctic-Tanker Co. Murmansk.
