Hi Tonker, she made an impressive sight, all right. The turn may have been a 'compass turn', or it may have been to avoid a yacht race. Pilot radioed that he was making the turn but I don't think a reason was given. Cheers! Walter

Nice pic thanks, Walter. I watched her sail up the Derwent today from her anchorage. I was sitting out the front of Prossers at Lower Sandy Bay beach, and I watched as she pulled a spectacular Uturn off Rosny, followed shortly after by another back towards the docks, I wondered if this was to wash some speed off, or just to wait for the 2 tugs who were coming under the Tasman to assist her, I`ve never seen a manoeuvre like this before, especially the first turn, it was done at a pretty impressive speed, or at least to my eye, I must ad I`m only an enthusiast, nothing more!
