Hybrid indicates a diesel-direct, diesel-electric and battery powered propulsion system, with lower fuel usage and noxious emissions.

They are built, according to the Dutch technology, and and fitted out in Netherlands by Damen.

This tug has the word "hybrid" on the superstructure.Does this mean as I am presuming that she is powered by diesel and gas fuel?

Yes Captain Ted, that must be the reason, "a made in Holland" job looks better on sales brochures.regards.

May be a better future sales pit !!!! Nethlands are known for good tugs builded there !!!

Why,is it just because they are just fitted out in Holland? but the construction and launching is done elsewhere so they should be credited to the yard where they were built. regards

Almost none of the Damen tugs are 'built' in the Netherlands, the vessels are built in various yards in Poland, Romania, Vietnam and other countries and fitted out in Netherlands. But they are always stated on the info. on this site as being built in Netherlands.

According to our local tugboat enthusiast Leli, she was built at Damen shipyard Galati ,Romania and not in the Netherlands as stated in Additional Information. Paul Ionescuu photos are another evidence .
