Hi Sydney

Like your selection of fine shots showing Azu after the 'grounding'! I seem to remember at that time she was maybe the largest vessel to go onto the floating dock? By the way you likely don't have a shot of the "Odon" from the late 1980s - she was the other Nigerian klondyker that was working with the Azu at that time??

John I have a photo of the Odin ( registered in Lagos but an ex-dutch freezer trawler ) in Loch Broom in 1986. I'll have a look in my photo's see if I can get it scanned and online along with my photo's of the Azu. Incidentally it was the Klondyke fishing company ( the Broch Taits family company ) that had taken both the Azu and Odin up to Ullapool for the Mackerel fishing in 1986.

Thanks Davie, didn't know about the Taits connection with Odon, but she later became Berenice and was a regular sight around Lerwick during the klondyking years. Still going strong as Serena-F and under Russian flag (Nakhodka).

Thanks also Stig for info re Indi - didn't know about her - you don't happen to know who / where she was built for and when? Can't find her in any of my recent LRs or under any other name so maybe long since gone for razor blades! By the way the discussion and subsequent pics of Azu came from recent shot of her on this site(now as Vardberg) in Las Palmas by Luis Herrera.

Hi!!
You proberbly know that Azu had a sister named "Indi"!?
I have a original catalogue from the yard where they were built, with pics and other info.
I`m suprised to see she`s still active and whith originale colours.

Stig
