She was indeed Triple screw.
The engines where as follow.The center engine was a 12 cylinder en the side engines 9 cilnders.
The ships with a similar engine room where
Selandia
Jutlandia
Elbe maru(MSC Insa).
Kamakura Maru.
Toyama.

From the Toyama i know they disabled 6 cylinders from the center engine to reduce fuel consumption.
The Selandia en Jutlandia are the only 2 remaining and they are owned by the US Navy.

Great picture. I was on a similar vessel heading south in the Red Sea and we must have been doing around 25kts. I recall this one gliding past us with ease! If I recall she was triple screw.
