Its terrible,it looks like some Greek outfit with the new colour funnel.

I make the words of Malim Sahib, mine as well. In my opinion before the changes, if we saw a white ship with a buff funnel, we would almost immediately identify as a P&O ship, well maybe not the general case, most likely with ships like ORIANA, AURORA or ARCADIA. Just like the Cunarders, with their traditional dark hull and red funnels. I think the full white and buff colors are not only part of the company's heritage, but also what distinguish them from other companies.
Presently some say that AURORA looks like an NCL cruise ship, and the blue funnel with sun logo, like a 2nd hand greek ship...

P&O have used buff funnels in their passenger fleet for 80 odd years, long enough to be as well established in the public consciousness as Cunard.
Quite how adopting a colour scheme which directly contrasts with the existing eminently recognisable and traditional public image in favour of something more suited to a Butlins holiday camp in the hope it will produce more bums on seats does truly mystify me.
The old (real) P&O passenger ships used to be a byword for high class, today it's more like economy class.
All the same, I'm in absolutely no doubt the blue funnels will be ditched in due course, just as they were before.

You make a fair point Malim, and despite contradicting myself, I do not believe that the Cunard livery should be changed, depite nearly 175 years of the same livery. P&O have worn the buff colour for a much shorter period, only adopting the colour in favour of black after merging with Orient Lines. Cunard lines, as do P&O, is a company strongly affiliated with British maritime presence, and the colours help to convey this. Although it could be argued that P&O's livery does the same, the Cunard guise is much more widely recognised by people who are not familiar with the maritime sector than the P&O equivalent. Therefore, I suppose a larger stigma is attached to Cunard's corporate colours, giving it more worth that P&O's...

SSM2005,
If you're old enough, you may remember P&O went through all of this blue funnel nonsense before in the early 70s, although the passenger ships were spared such ignominy.
Presumably you think Cunard red is an "exhausted" colour too and should be changed to something more modern?

Edit
comment

person
I actually like this livery. I think that the blue stacks are a smart looking alternative to the exhausted buff that has been used for decades. However, I must agree about the U.K. Flag...

The blue funnel is just not correct on a P&O ship. Looks awful

I agree Mr. DOT, it is already a pitty she has lost her fine buff funnel, but still it would be not so bad if she kept the white livery without the UJ painting on the bow.

The 'clean' bows look great with no with no 'buggered up jack' mrdot.
