Description:

SALCOMBE, operated by the Bristol coal merchants Osborn and Wallis, is seen passing Battery Point on the morning of 17th June 1965 bound for Newport to load another cargo of coal for Portishead power station.

She was built in 1938 at Lekkerkerk, Netherlands, by DUIVENDYK as CAMROUX IV for the Newcastle Coal and Shipping Co Ltd, London, and purchased by Osborn and Wallis in 1942.

In 1969 she was sold and renamed FRIARS CRAIG, finally in 1985 being scuttled as a reef in a position 13.04N/59.36W
