So the location of the picture must be Paranagua then !

@ dedge.
The rudder is probably missing after the grounding which occured 23 Aug 1985, shortly after leaving Paranagua for Ghent. Reported re-floated 01 Oct 1985. Then declared CTL and broken up at Paranagua Feb 1986.

Can not be a coincidence that greek and russian letter L is the same, and also not the only one ! 50% is the same or similar, so there must be a similar past!

Marina L for Marina G Livanos, the daughter of late George P Livanos. His son is Peter G Livanos, owner of GasLog (Ceres LNG), owner of C Transport Maritime in Monaco, co-owner of Euronav and ofcourse Ceres Hellenic Shipping.

About Livanos not dispute ... I'm just saying that L in Hellenic language is the same as L in Cyrillic.

This is MARINA L. IMO 6514649 built 1965 by Uraga Heavy Industries Ltd. Uraga # 860
Already here, most probably on her maiden voyage from Japan

Ansyk, this is Hellenic language, no relation to cyrilic or any post Hellenic civilization script. And anyone who knows little abt greek ships and shipping, can tell only from the house flag/funnel of George Livanos' Ceres Hellenic Shipping. All his ships were suffixed L.

Whether it is any Marina, built in Uraga Dock (same type). But fact is that in Cyrillic it really looks like an L.

The correct name of this ship is MARINA L (ΜΑΡΙΝΑ Λ in Hellenic) and she was built at Hakodate, Japan. Built for and owned by George P Livanos (Ceres Hellenic Shipping, Piraeus, Greece). George Livanos built more than 100 vessels in Japan and in Hakodate Shipyard in particular, so that he was honoured as honourable citizen of Hakodate Prefecture.

Probably it is bulker, built 1966 by Uraga, Japan. 19411gt, 35339dwt, LR/IMO 6613172. Later renamed Itel Taurus.
