arrived at Shanghai on 2nd May 1985 for breaking

She was involved in a major collision with the Great Lakes bulk carrier LEECLIFFE HALL, on September 5th 1964. The latter eventually sank, bringing with her three crew members who were working in trying to salvage their vessel fully loaded with iron ore. The collision occured in bad visibility off Saint-Joseph-de-la-Rive, 60 NM below Québec City, on the St-Lawrence river. The Apollonia was fully loaded with grain and managed to sail up to Québec City where she was repaired.
