Built 1945 by Sun Shipbuilding & Drydock Co, Chester Pennsylvania, USA as WW2 standard-design T2 tanker ATLANTIC MARINER. New forepart built 1962 by Schlieker Werft, Hamburg, West Germany for conversion to bulk carrier. Turbine-electric propulsion with a 7,240 shp Westinghouse steam turbine. Operated by Reynolds Metals Co, Corpus Christi, Texas until scrapped at Castellon, Spain in 1985
