with Creeksea, is it near Maldon ?

Creeksea is on the River Crouch. The wharf is actually on the other side of the river from Creeksea, but has always been know as such by Lloyds etc. Timber is the main cargo and not as many ships call there as in the past. I noticed today though that there are two vessels in (on AIS live).
I would think that 4 or 5 ships a month is probably the maximum, unless of course anyone knows any better. It was probably about at least 10 years since I last photographed a ship there. A bit out of the way, but went via Maldon (years since I was there too!). Eventual destination was Southend to give a slide show to Southend branch of the World Ship Society, on shipping on the River Colne.

I was there the day before, not shipspotting though. So you must have passed by my town (SWF) too! Were you on your motorbike? The 'Burnham Bends' are just great on two wheels :-D

Glad you liked the photo.
Unfortunately I was in the car as I had my son with me. Intend to get about on the bike soon.
Yes I went through the outskirts of SWF, grown a lot since I was last there.

Derek
