Stumpy? She had a length of 169 Meters with 17.200 tdw.
I think her appearance on the photo has to do with the focal length of the camera and the special shape of her forecastle and the high load line (empty holds). Regards Peter

The size of the accommodation block is what makes her look odd, she was of course built at a time when crew comforts started to become important in ship design.
Alas those days are now gone!

She certainly does look a bit stumpy in this view, but The clue is in her original name. I assume her length was designed to fit into the Manchester Ship Canal locks, although I'm not sure her height would fit some of the bridges.

Looks like She is missing about 200 feet forward. Odd shape.
