Finland’s government has contracted Alcatel-Lucent (currently being united with Nokia) to build a communication cable of about 1 100 km at the bottom of the Baltic Sea stretching from Helsinki to Rostock, Germany. The project, called Sea Lion, is funded by Finland’s government-owned Cinia Group and is expected to be completed in 2016. (source: Jukka Koskimies)
