A classic Victory-Ship. They wee built in a matter of weeks but lasted for decades. The U.S. Navy was still operating several modified Victory-Ship well into the 1980s. This one, USNS Range Sentinel, was finally taken out of service in 1997: http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=277115
