Thank you very much Captain Ted, Clyde, PHa (Peter), Hannes van Rijn and Emmanuel for your pleasing comments,, it was indeed my pleasure to post this image... and I'm much glad you like it & especially that it brought attention to the broad & utmost interesting history of this indeed "oldtimer" tug;
Let's hope she keeps strongly on ..... and wish her still a well and long time to honorably serve her duty & proudly sail !

Once again, THANK YOU ALL for your very nice comments on this page; best regards

@ jadran: Nice catch, Jadran! I had a look into my archives and found the following information about this tug-oldie: Newspaper "Hamburger Abendblatt" wrote on 20.1.1968 in an own report: Hamburg, 20.1.1968. Headline: Norddeutscher Lloyd sold six tugs. By arrangement of the Hamburg special shipbroking company Adolf E. H. Ronnebaum (established 1921, Ronnebaum died in 1964) the Norddeutscher Lloyd sold six used tugs of the "STUR"-Type to Yugoslavia. These are the tugs "STUBBORN" (in german language "STUR"), "Arion", "Hercules", "Sirius", "Capricorn" ("STEINBOCK"), and "Volcano" ("VULKAN"). They have a engine power of 700 HP each and were built from 1943 to 1944 in the USA. The handover took already place in Bremerhaven. The Norddeutscher Lloyd said, that the US-built-Tugs will be replaced by new built tugs from german shipyards, which came in service in the last months." the newspaper wrote. Btw: After WW II the main harbour of the US-Navy in Germany was Bremerhaven. Please remember the arrival of GI Elvis Presley on the 1st of October 1958 in Bremerhaven by USS GENERAL RANDALL. Maybe one of the US-built tugs assisted the troopship USS General George M. Randall (AP-115) on arrival at Bremerhaven. Maybe, Jadran, the PLANKTON was the Elvis-Tug of 1958... Shipping makes the world small. Have a nice day. Regards Peter from Germany.

Yes Jim,, I can well agree with your comment & your much appropriate wording for this Tug: SHE'S HAD SOME LIFE-SO FAR
However, today she started to look a bit worn-out & tired;
Cheers (J)
