Description:

Royal Mail Lines’ ESSEQUIBO was photographed passing Portishead, outbound from Avonmouth, on 6th November 1965 after discharging a cargo of sulphur from Beaumont, sailing for Liverpool to load out for the West Coast of South America on Pacific S.N. service.

Built in 1952 by Harland & Wolff at Glasgow, ESSEQUIBO was sold East in 1968, trading under China Navigation ownership as NINGPO until 1970 and then as the Burmese KALEWA until finally arriving at Shanghai on 15th March 1976 to be broken up.
