It can be clearly seen on the photo that the name of the ship was written as Петр (Petr) and not Пётр (Pyotr) perhaps to be closer to the Ukranian and not to the Russian Ortography. Therefore, the name of the ship at the time of the photo was taken was PETR VELIKIY and not PYOTR VELiKIY.
