Description:

An early morning shot of the Bulford Dolphin being towed from Mexico to Nigeria, via Trinidad [crew-change] by the Maersk Advancer on 14/11/2005, in the Atlantic off Brasillian coast. This rig is in the news at the moment due to several people were abducted by pirates in the last few days and held to ransom!

It was renamed Aban Pearl, and went to work for PDVSA, offshore Venezuela. It's now lying on the bottom of the Caribbean Sea, after sinking in mysterious circumstances in 2010. The company had said it sank as the result of heavy seas. However, having worked nearby and knowing many of the people who were on-board at the time. I would say incompetence played a large part in the sinking.
