Description:

Moored EECV, arrived one day earlier, feb 24th 2016. This year she'll be 30 years old and will be sent to scrap in Q4 2016.
Berge Stahl was specially designed for the Brazil-Rotterdam trade. She 's been the largest bulker ever for more than 2 decades until the Vale bulkers came into business. Because of her exceptional maneuverability she was allowed to enter Rotterdam with 75' draft instead of 74'. She was well ahead of her time. Scrapping will be the end of an era.

She'd be an ideal candidate for conversion to FSPO. Look at all that deckspace. Hope she's not dead.

She's the oldest capesize bulker or VLOC afloat right now and one of only 7 such vessels remaining built in the 1980s

It will be a sad day when this giant and steady element on the Europort scene will be gone. But 30 years is an extremely good career for a large bulk ship.

Maybe it will be founded a museum of merchant navy and this ship will be on shire to be visited.
