The structure on the side you mention are 'Towing Breakers' fitted only for the delivery voyage to aid directional stability under tow. The lifeboats were not angled but 90degrees to the centre line. They were positioned here to avoid shuttle tankers at the stern.

An impressive looking FPSO!

The structure on the side i think is for the key,somthing to hold it ageinst somting,but i am not sure.the lifeboat are divelifeboat so they are supose to look like that-

She's a Monster - with a capital M !! Two things:- what's that structure at the waterline bolted to her hull near the stern? and why are the drop lifeboat angled instead of straight down?
