Due to the depression of the shipping industry, more and more super container ship's stowage plan will use this picture's style. From the sealevel,it looks like full load, from the sky,it looks so empty:)

Bob, I thought that she ship was in semi lay-up, because of the description, and then I thought that the shot was recent, and that had been there since march. Sorry for the resulting stupid question. And Hannes why would this shot be in any way not conforming with site standards?

Drop the bombs!

:)

This is good enough for "National Geographic", fantastic shot!

As for container stowage, here's one example of misdeclared weight: 4 x 40' empty container platforms stacked one atop the other, declared as "one empty container", for they did not take up more space than a standard 40' box, and they did not carry any cargo, therefore were obviously empty - but the weight of one empty 40' box is less than 4 tons, while 4 platforms together weigh about 20 tons more...

Cheers

Vlad

Presumably the ship is calling at various Chinese ports. Stowing the empties this way has left clear access to the hatch covers for cargo handing in the holds at the next port(s) of caol

There are always empties, because 7-8 high loaded will exceed quick the stow place permission for weight. Of course there are also very light loaded full containers, but that is more not the norm. Here it is nice to see,, outside are full high up loaded and inside empty. Given the illusion on sight that it is a full ship.

So is it loaded (partly) with empties?
