Hi Derek,

I saw her at Shoreham back in 1996, she was then operated by Atlantic Marine Sales & Charter Co under the St Vincent flag, registered in Kingstown. Ex: East German Navy.

I will dig out the photo and post

Regards

Bob

This "posted" twice ???? how can I delete it, there's no option on edit.

Hi Derek,

You guessed right, she's German or former East-German to be exact.

She's one of a series of six build at different yards in 1959/1960 and where originally 261 BRT and had one 1 SKL engine (4SA 6Cyl) delivering 540 SHP.

The names where:

PEENE - A111
SPREE - A112
HAVEL - A442
ELBE - A443
ODER - A461
ERNST KREKEL - A662

A peek in a Lloyd's Register (1996/1997) shows four of these vessels:

EIDE GUARD 1 (ex PEENE)
EIDE GUARD 2 (ex ODER)
EIDE GUARD 3 (ex ERNST KREKEL)
TEA (ex ELBE).

I have a photo of her at Falmouth with GUARD VESSEL on the hull but I can remember she's was sold to a private owner and used as a yacht.

Cheers,

Wim Kosten
