In the foreground can be seen the rail transfer system of the Synchrolift facility.
Ships are lifted from the sea in a lifting lock & onto cradles mounted on rails.
Once 'lifted' from the water, the ships cradle can be manoeuvered laterally or transversely anywhere in the repair lanes for maximum flexibility.

Vessel arrived at Alang, India for demolition on 21/11/2010.
