Description:

Stag Line’s 1958 Readhead, South Shields, built GLOXINIA is seen passing Portishead, outward from Avonmouth on 9th November 1966, so exactly fifty years ago today, following discharge a cargo of grain from Lakehead Harbour.

Sold to Greek owners in 1977, she traded on as VIRGINIA M. until suffering engine trouble after sailing from Apapa/Lagos on 30th April 1982. She finally arrived at Piraeus in tow on 10th June only to be sold for breaking at Perama on 2nd August 1982.
