"TAKARA", and her sister ships "Tai Shan" and "Tancred" built by Wilhlmsen and flew Liberian flag initially, until NIS was established in Norway in 1987.
Very simplistic built, but did what they were designed for. Only one of the two lifeboats had a motor, the port one was fitted with oars and sail only. As can be seen on this photo, TAKARA, unlike her sisters, also had a side ramp on the port side, which was seldom used. Being of little use, and expensive to maintain, the port side ramp was eventually welded shut.
I sailed briefly onboard her in her last year, when she was "DR ACE", and owned by a Korean company, by then she was completely worn out...
But picture and vessel looks nice in this picture :-)

Thanks my friend. The vehicles carrier is not the kind of nice vessel by its shape, but I really like the kind of Japanese construction for its thin bow and stern. Cheers and good evening amigo Volker.
