The ship is still carrying Polish Ocean Lines logo, so it is before end of 1993.
In general, "Hel" class ships were deployed within Polish Ocean Lines as follows:
1970 - 1979 (1981?) - Far East Line, from Poland to Japan; (at first around Africa and from June 1975 via Suez Canal);
1982 - Middle East Line, to Persian Gulf (according contemporary press note; no other confirmation);
1983 - 1984 - South Pacific Line;
1984 - 1986 - Bombay Line (including Persian Gulf).
Then, starting from 1986 until being broken up in 1997, these ships were consequently listed in sailings as serving South America West Coast Line;
later also the East Coast and Caribbean.
(by the way: so far, I have found no pictures from South American ports; for 10 years of service by 4 ships it seems unbelievable)
There were also exceptions from above mentioned routes:
1990 - "Jurata" was reported to rescue some fishermen in Malacca Strait;
1991 - "Władysławowo" was chartered for 33 days by Military Sealift Command during Gulf War;
1994 - "Jastarnia Bór" was chartered by POL-Seal for East and South Africa line;
1995 - "Jastarnia Bór" and in 1996 "Władysławowo" visited Polish Antarctic Station "Arctowski" (as a deviation from South America East Coast route).
Perhaps this is also the case of this call to Durban - as a some sort of temporary support of other line.
But, which one? The same, or other than in this case of call to Bangkok?

In 1991, Durban was port of call of the East and South Africa Line, and Bangkok - the Asia Service.
