Well,,depends,, transshments at sea are relative easy with derricks and with cranes really difficult and the reefers which calling LasPalmas (I did that often (Inka/Nova Scotia/Nova Galicia and so on
) are carrying the fish mostly to W-afrika and often load some on sea, meeting fishers off the Maroccan coast and Mauretania for example

Hi Cap'n Ted, thanks for your comment. Sticks and strings (derricks and wires) on reefers are more preferable to me too.
There was a time, not so long ago, when Las Palmas hosted many classic old reefers. Alas, no more to speak of.
Fortschritt, nicht wahr? :-)

Great shot Rick,, only bad part about this vessel is that she has cranes instead of old style gear.

Hoi Arne, good to hear from you again.
Glad you like this newer 'oldie' ;-) Only 23 years young & it appears modern to me... hahaa
I will be heading North sometime this year to Sweden, I will call you before then.
Fröhliche Weihnachten und einen guten Start ins neue Jahr,
Gruß, Rick

Hoi Rick,
nice pic of this "oldie". Never seen her in Kiel canal, but she was there in 2006. My colleague Willi pictured her next to my office in the Brunsbüttel locks that time.

PS: Hope to meet you once again at a "summer photo trip" in Fischerhütte or Oldenbüttel ;-)

Hi Rick, I think it's nice for us that we like boats.
It would be an excellent idea, you indicate the date when I will come to Valparaiso and coordinate the search for a good restorant.
PS. I do not speak any of English haha
My best regards to you..

Buenos días Juan Carlos y Feliz Navidad Chile!
I had not seen this vessel before and it was a nice surprise to see her arrive and spend a few days at anchor before entering the port.
Thanks for your kind comment.
I will be in Chile next year, maybe we can meet up in Valparaiso for a coffee? I hope so!
Saludos, Rick

Hi Rick, beautiful photo, I love the refrigerated boats, this one in particular, I have not seen it in these ports for years, maybe one day before it disappears.
Rgds
Juan Carlos..
